Mario is a jewel thief who has hidden his latest haul in the luggage of an Italian opera star as she crosses the border from Switzerland to Italy, confident that her cases will not be searched.
Now, armed with a revolver, he confronts her in her house and demands the suitcase and her own jewellery. She tells him that the case he hid the jewellery in was her husband's and he has now reclaimed it. They have had a quarrel, but she is sure that he will come home soon, and when he does we will find out if Mario gets his booty.
